Klimt (2006)

Seeing Klimt, spawned numerous questions. Was the person portrayed, really Klimt? To what degree? In a book with the same title from Taschen publications, it mentioned that few things are recorded as being said directly from him. Most info for his life comes from others. For sure, this film acts as a trigger to learn more about the artist. The mentality of the person, outside of any framework is intriguing. The way the society viewed his work too…

To come back to the film however, it does convey a similar aura with the paintings of the artist. John Malkovich gives an excellent performance of an individual gifted with talent, audacity, an unconventional point of view on all issues and the desire to live its life to the extreme.

My rating: 07/10
