Green Zone (2010)

What a story! I am afraid that in order to display the full bullshit going on in this movie, I’ll have to comment on its plot. Unfortunately, there is no other way. So, if you want to see it, you may refrain from reading the rest of the post 🙂

Here we go:

– The biggest, most powerful nation in the world, i.e. USA, allows to be …. lead to war by … a high-ranking official in the White House who … purposefully provides to the press false (!) information about World Mass Destruction (WMD) weapons in Iraq. Can you imagine that?!?!?

– Although there is a … good CIA guy who is … wondering why the WMD locations provided cannot be found and is  … desperately seeking the reason behind this … inconsistency, things turn against him!

– Lucky for him, there is an American Sargent (Matt Daemon) who supports him and tries to find with him … the truth, risking his career, life, ….everything!

– Ah, yes! There is also the reporter that through Wall Street Journal published the story about the WMDs in Iraq and get finally … moved  and really … excited when the Sargent sends the … classified intelligence report, stating the truth about the game that was played, to the whole US press by discrediting her!

Excellent … plot, raging action, bravery, etc.

Finally: the truth about Iraq! This is the film that should be given the Oscar, not the Hurt Locker!

The Bounty Hunter (2010)

Need something to waste your time on, that is between a chase, a -kind-of-romance-thing-, with some plot, but a lot left to be desired? Then .. this is a movie for you! Do not expect too much, because simply … you are not going to get it!

Clash of the Titans (2010)

Why do I go to see films like “Clash of the Titans“? Well, hmm, I enjoy them, if they are well made :). Sometimes however, no matter how well the special effects are, the mere ease with which the screenplay disrespectfully mixes tales from different cultures (Greek mythology and the Norwegian tales) just to produce something impressive, really pisses me off. “The Incredible Hulk” of the same director (Louis Leterrier) was a far better movie.

Oceans (2009)

Sometimes I feel the need to see something that will just make feel better. Seeing nature in its beauty is one of the things that have this effect on me. As with “Peuple Migrateur“, “Oceans” from the same director, Jacques Perrin, with musical background from the same composer, Bruno Coulais, displays an amazing picture of the our amazing blue marble. Although the film does not provide the originality and story coherence that the previous film had, and the music is not as good, it still is a pleasure to the eye, has some very impressive, sensitive as well as awesome moments.

Human kind’s insensitivity and cruelty over nature and animal life are clearly displayed, just to make the point.

You’ll enjoy it 🙂
