Ironclad: in the context of the medieval adventures, one of the worst movies ever filmed. Is it direction missing or acting? Probably both to the extreme. Not even Derek Jacobi (remember him from “Claudius“?) could not save this movie.
The only thing that really makes this film different from others of its kind is the shed of blood and numerous extremely violent and revolting scenes (tongue cutting, the gradual mutilation of a hand blow after blow etc.). If you do not see it, you lose nothing, believe me.

PS. One of the best movies of that kind is “Flesh+Blood“, look for it if you have not seen it.
